” says Apple CEO.

Apple CEO Tim Cook sat with German publication Stern to talk about new iPhones and Apple TV +. This was during a visit to the office of Blinkist, a Berlin-based startup that summarizes non-fiction books. However, the conversation was not just about the new app, but continued to return to Apple's pricing strategy.

"We are always trying to keep our prices as low as possible and fortunately we managed to lower the iPhone this year," Cook said. In fact, the iPhone 11 is 800 euros, 50 euros less than last year's XR price.

In addition, TV + costs € 5 per month compared to the cheapest Netflix plan for € 8 (this video does not include even HD video). However, Cook does not think Netflix is afraid of the new Apple service because streaming video is not a "winner takes all" deal - instead, many subscribers share many services and Apple TV + wants to be one of them.

Cook also talked about a possible future problem for his company. Elizabeth Warren, the presidential candidate, wants to dismantle big tech companies. The company is also under pressure from the US Supreme Court, which says it has monopolized the iOS app market.

However, Cook says “no reasonable person may call Apple a monopolist” and suggests that people can access content through their browser without Apple's consent (in an effort to format content to make the App Store “a trusted place to buy apps”).

“We have 30 to 40 apps - over two million apps,” says Cook, and compares Apple to a supermarket that sells branded products alongside large market elements.
