How to use
the latest Instagram features
Instagram gets a whole host of new features, including the camera tool called Create Mode, improved shopping tools, and support for starting an in-app fundraiser.
Instagram has already begun to introduce new tools. Here's how to use it.
Use the new Instagram camera mode
The new camera uses a wheel-like design with multiple camera modes, including a new structure. This option allows you to add contests, posters, and countdowns to your story without first uploading a photo or video.
1. When you log into the app, click on the camera icon.
2. Select "Create" and choose from options such as text (type anything), ask me a question (ask your friends a question), polls (ask a question, give your friends two choices) and countdown (Christmas, wedding, event).
3. Choose the friends you want to participate in the tests and count down with them, or share them in your story for all to see.
Now you can start sharing your best moments with friends and family without seeing the world.
Create a fundraiser in Instagram stories
You can now create a fundraising campaign that allows your followers to donate to your chosen cause.
1. Tap the new Smiling Face icon in the stories and select the donation sticker.
2. Choose the non-profit organization you want to support, such as Black Girls Code or ASPCA. (They must be on Facebook's fundraising platform and have an Instagram business profile to appear as an option.)
3. Share your story.
Swipe to see how much you've raised, and every dollar earned will go to the nonprofit.
Shop your favorite brands without leaving the app
Shop directly through Instagram:
1. Go to Explore and click Shopping.
2. Choose the top that says "Shop Now" with checkout.
3. Scroll through the brands and select the brand you wish to shop.
4. When you find something you want to buy, click Checkout on Instagram and complete your order.
